Rev. OLU JEGEDE
Rev. Olu Jegede and his wife Jen have been ministering at Christian Centre in various capacities since 1992. Beginning as a youth ministry volunteer, Olu eventually felt called to leave his career in IT, become a full-time pastor, and move into the local community. Olu holds a Masters in Theology from Tyndale University as well as a BA in Computer Science. Jen is currently serving as our interim Children’s Pastor. Together, they are well known for their strong work ethic, warm hospitality and love of camping. They have four incredible children – Nicholas, Abigail, Elijah and Elizabeth.
REV. TREVOR DECEMBER
Trevor first came to Christian Centre from Guyana as a young adult. He currently leads the Seniors and Young Marrieds groups and assists in overseeing the maintenance of our church building. Trevor holds a Bachelor of Theology in Pastoral Ministry from Master’s College and Seminary. He is known for his easy going demeanor and exceptional bus driving skills. Trevor’s wife Mercy keeps him looking fresh at all times. They have two children, Sarai and Gabriel.
John grew up in a tough neighbourhood, raised by a single dad. These challenges prepared him well for his role as our youth and young adults pastor. John co-leads the Youth, Young Adults and Campus Ministries and regularly teaches in various contexts at Christian Centre. He has his MA in history and has completed most of his doctorate in church history at the University of Toronto. John’s favourite things are college sports, hip hop and his dog Maddie, who gives him endless sermon illustrations. He is married to Jessie and together they are raising their daughters Eden and Shepherd.
Jessie came to the big city from rural Muskoka. She co-leads the Youth and Young Adult Ministries, and oversees our Welcome Team, visitor integration, church communications and discipleship classes. Jessie holds a BA in Communications from York U and a theological degree in Pastoral Ministry from Master’s College and Seminary. Jessie very much enjoys beating Junior Highs in Mario Kart. She is married to John and together they are raising their daughters Eden and Shepherd.
Prince moved to Toronto from Logos, Nigeria. He leads IGNITE (our 25-35 age group), the men’s ministry, and our prayer teams. Prince has a BA in Philosophy and an MDiv in Pastoral Ministry from Tyndale University. In his spare time, Prince loves playing the video game FIFA Soccer and watching political docs. For some strange and unexplainable reason, he doesn’t like pizza!
Anna is a pastor’s kid from the east coast. She is passionately involved in many aspects of the church, including many of our community outreach initiatives, and serves as the office administrator. Anna graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Social Work and operates her own cake decorating business. She can usually be found rocking a pair of high heels but has also been known to play sports in her bare feet.
Abigail grew up in a Christian family and has always lived in the GTA. She provides leadership to our Worship Team, directing our band and vocalists. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music and a certificate from the Bethel Church WorshipU program, she brings both passion and musical development to our team. Abigail is known for her love of wearing bows and her all-time favorite worship leader is Kari Jobe.
Marlon Pennant BAND LEADER
Marlon grew up in Brampton and was raised in church. He is very passionate about God’s word and apologetics. Marlon serves as our Band Leader and produced Christian Centre’s first album in our studio. He finds joy in sharing the Gospel through music and song. When he is not working or serving at church, Marlon and his wife Nikieshia spend their time homeschooling and exploring the city with their four sons, Liam, Eli, Micah and Noah.
Hailing from Vancouver, Audrey began attending Christian Centre as a York University student in 2006. Since then, the church has been instrumental in her spiritual growth. She is also involved with Inner City Outreach, a non-profit started by the church to serve the local community. Audrey is known for her design skills and for always carrying a water bottle. She is married to Danesh, who serves on our board, and is mommy to baby Erin.
